Broadcast Matrix

Broadcast Matrix is a propriety approach to producing radio and TV spots at a fraction of the cost that most agencies charge without sacrificing creativity or quality.

How does Broadcast Matrix work:

Every time an agency produces a radio or TV spot for a client they start with a blank sheet. Then they build a concept from scratch. Usually, they have to go through several concepts before the client approves one. If the client asks “How much will this cost?” the agency has no idea. Once the concept is approved, the agency will work up an estimate. If the estimate is beyond the client’s budget, they have to go back to the drawing board. This process takes a great deal of time and is very expensive.

We have a unique approach. Over time, we have noticed that almost all spots fall into very specific formats. Even the most creative, award winning spots rarely break out of these molds. So, we formalized each of those formats (which we call a matrix), structured them and pre-determined their cost. This way we can discuss the pre-formatted spot with the client, including the cost, and determine what will be the best way to go. Once that is decided, the creative people apply their craft and turn the format into something unique for the client. No two spots are ever, even remotely, the same.

This process dramatically cuts the cost (usually in half) while maintaining the quality and creativity.

Pricing for Broadcast Matrix:

Using Broadcast Matrix, we can produce a TV spot that is equal in quality and creativity with the big agencies for between $20,000 and $80,000. This is a complete package that includes creative development, storyboards, script, actors, production and editing. Add-ons such as a celebrity, or special location are an additional cost.

Using this same approach, we can produce radio spots for between $3,000 to $7,500. Add-ons such as a celebrity or custom music are and additional cost. Again, this is a complete, professionally produced spot that compares with anything a major agency can produce.

Typical turn around time to produce a Broadcast Matrix:

TV – 2 to 4 weeks
Radio – 5 to 10 days

Steps in producing a Broadcast Matrix:

  1. Conduct Shiny Object Workshop
  2. Meet with client to choose appropriate matrix
  3. Determine the cost of any add-ons, such as a celebrity
  4. Develop storyboard and scripts
  5. Pre-production – make all arrangements for production
  6. Production – shoot TV or record radio
  7. Post Production – edit spot, add music and voice over
  8. Distribution – provide electronic distribution to stations

How Broadcast Matrix can get you on the air:

Advertisers that create radio and TV spots are always struggling with the tug of war between production and media. The more they spend on production, the less they have to put it on the air. If they cut back on production to get more air time, they run the risk of producing a poor quality spot that won’t produce the desired results.

Broadcast Matrix gives advertisers the best of both worlds – quality and low cost. Plus, it also greatly reduces production time, which can be an issue if they are in a time crunch.

Find Your Shiny Object

That one thing that will make your prospects stop dead in their tracks and take notice of your brand. Do you know what it is? Do you know how to find it? We do. Our agency is built on the concept of helping businesses to find their shiny object. In fact, we wrote the book on the subject - “Shiny Objects Marketing” to be available in all major bookstores by September 2008.
